A welcoming sunshine yellow door, vintage hexagonal display cases, a vintage trusty rusty fridge filled with Boylans and old-timey black and white striped soda fountain straws, a barn wood chevron patterned wall. These are some of the signature elements that define the cozy eclectic style of Courtney Webb, whose new Hey Rooster General Store in Nashville is bringing a little Northern cool to the charming South. You'd also like to live there.

The store itself is all Courtney's handiwork inside and out. She literally built it from scratch (you can follow the progress on her Facebook page), decorated it with some great family finds, like her mom's antique sewing machine table, and stocked it with her own graphic jewelry collection, tasty artisanal food stuffs, hip grooming and beauty products, curated flea market finds, Cynthia Rybakoff jewelry, and a growing selection of made in the good ol' USA things you really really want.

A Historic Move

This summer, Cynthia Rybakoff will open a NYC showroom and studio in the historic Bennet Building, located in NYC's Financial District. The landmarked site was previously the location of New York's famed Diamond District, which thrived near the intersection of Fulton and Nassau during the 1930's, before moving to it's present 47th street location. 

The Bennet Building, constructed in 1873 in Second Empire style,  has been described as a major monument to the art of cast-iron architecture, and the tallest habitable building with cast facades ever built. Office buildings like this flourished in Lower Manhattan after the Civil War, and the Bennet Building is one of 2 such buildings with cast iron fronts standing south of Canal Street.

Oh Baby!

Quelle surprise, a Cynthia Rybakoff 14k gold filled Baby Ring was featured not long ago on Garance Doré! The piece was about Boscia detoxifying black cleanser available at Sephora, and my those are some lovely hands. What better way to show them off than with one delicate ring!

Hand made in NYC, the rings come in small sizes only, for the pinky or above the knuckle. I dislike the term knuckle ring - it sound rough and weapon like, and rings worn there are generally feminine and petite.

Painting the Town Red

Artists & Fleas has created a unique exterior for their Chelsea Market pop-up shop, by choosing a bright palette of tomato with blue and yellow, painted by a crafty Brooklyn duo. The hand lettering of the signage, which repeats on panels wrapping the corner of 15th and tenth, has a retro feel to it, a bit like a traveling circus.

Artists & Fleas at Chelsea Market is located on the corner of 15th and Tenth, and is open 7 days a week, 10-7pm.

Chelsea Girl

Artists & Fleas, the Williamsburg shopping mecca that set the standard for the current New York market scene as we know it today, returns to New York's Chelsea Market for a 3 month Spring season showcase, after a triumphant holiday pop-up in December.

Cynthia Rybakoff will be a featured independent designer at the market, along with a hand picked group of Brooklyn's most compelling artists, designers and vintage dealers. Love For Sale

For 25 years, God's Love We Deliver has created nutritious meals for the body and soul. This weekend, Artists & Fleas presents a very special Valentine's sale and fundraiser, Love For Sale, to benefit the organization which has improved the health and well-being of those living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses, by delivering high quality meals.

Ricky Becker of Spooky Boutique, has transformed a part of the market into a red room, merchandising the romantic works of over 20 participating artists, designers and vintage collectors, with a generous portion of the proceeds going to God's Love We Deliver.

Shop this weekend for all things red, including my vintage Lips earrings, pictured above, and enjoy some Brooklyn style DJ Karaoke on Saturday, starting at 5pm.

Here are some lovely pics from the silk accessory collaboration between Ashdel Handmade and Handmade On Peconic Bay. Ashley Delose, a talented textile artisan, noticed the potential in my husband Matt's cyanotype and Van Dyke brown printed silk seconds, and fashioned them into something decidedly a first! See her Ashdel Handmade collection on Etsy, made entirely from vintage and recycled textiles.

Join the Club

After months of top secret development, my Resort 2012 collaboration with Club Monaco launches today! I've designed a mini collection of modern pendants with a vintage look and feel. Inspired by Victorian Scottish and English sterling silver, with lots of great period detailing, these limited edition pieces can be yours at a very affordable price.

You will COVET and adore my vintage classic Anchor of Hope and Albert Watch Fob pendants, created in pewter and brass with nickel free antique rhodium plating. Based on 19th century period men's accessories (think Sherlock Holmes style coolness), they're updated with a feminine touch.

Like other independent designers chosen to create cutting edge items for top retailers like J. Crew, Madewell, Topshop and Target under their own brand name, my collaboration with Club Monaco is an amazing opportunity to have my work presented in a super hip fashion environment, with tons of great clothes and accessories.

Beginning December 15th, Artists & Fleas brings the best of Brooklyn to the heart of hip with a 2-week long holiday pop-up at Chelsea Market. Artists & Fleas at Chelsea Market is an opportunity to showcase a selection of hand picked artists and designers in NYC, since first opening their doors in Williamsburg in 2003. 30 crafty vendors, including Cynthia Rybakoff fine fashion jewelry, and Handmade on Peconic Bay modern vintage prints, will be transforming a never-before-seen 4000 square foot industrial space on the corner of West 15th Street & Tenth Avenue into Manhattan's best holiday happening.

The venue sits at the cross-roads of fashion, culture and urban innovation – nestled beneath the High Line park and between the the Meatpacking District, Chelsea, the West Village and the Hudson River waterfront. Chelsea Market is known around the world as much for its creative use of urban space and architecture as it is for exciting retailers and cosmopolitan food makers.
